ARGUMENTATION
FROM
TRADITIONAL HUMANITIES TO IT
This
project aims at extracting methods and principles from argumentation,
reasoning and critical thinking for implementation in software
and educational material.
The
project has been conducted between 1999 and 2002 in co-operation
with the Philosophy Department, Blekinge Institute of Technology
and Certec, Lund Institute of Technology. It has been sponsored
by Grant 103/98 from The Council for the Renewal of Higher Education,
The National Agency for Higher Education, Stockholm, Sweden.
The Athena software is designed to
support analysis and production of argumentation by students
in higher education at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
It has been tested on some 160 students with favourable outcome
